The Murder House from American Horror Story was available to rent on Airbnb

If you’re in the Los Angeles area and looking for a positively terrifying way to spend the weekend, you might be able to book the infamous Murder House made famous in the first season of FX’s American Horror Story.

The house was listed recently on Airbnb, for the tidy sum of $1,450 per night. Yeah, that’s a lot of scratch, but remember that the listing includes nine bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms and can comfortably fit 16 people. So, if you break that hefty price tag up a few different ways, it's not the worst deal. Though most fans know the place as Murder House, it’s actually the Alfred Rosenheim Mansion, built in 1908, and is officially a historical and cultural landmark in California.

If American Horror Story doesn’t get you excited, the house has been featured on several other genre staples, including The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Twilight Zone.

Here's one positive review of the pad:

“The house was fantastic: Full of history and carrying her scars and scratches from a long and eventful life with pride. Beds, blankets and linens were top class, kitchen well equipped and our party of five made good use of it, both for relaxation and as an alternative meeting place with colleagues from Hollywood. If you are looking for something soulful, and do not expect everything to be brand new and shiny, this place is it.”

Sadly, the house isn’t actively listed anymore, though it stands to reason it could pop up again in the future. So, if you’re jonesing for a creepy night out in a classic mansion, this should fit the bill nicely.
