She-Hulk takes up Bruce Banner's mantle in first look at new Hulk comic

She-Hulk took a beating in Civil War II, and with the world experiencing a Hulk shortage, she’s getting ready to fill the void.

Marvel has released a first look at the new Hulk comic series, which will star Jennifer Walters (aka She-Hulk) in the title role. The run is being handled by the creative team of Eisner Award-winning writer Mariko Tamaki (This One Summer) and artist Nico Leon (Spider-Man), which should make for one heck of a team behind the scenes.

The series itself will follow Jen as she tries to move on in the wake of Civil War II, which left her at death’s door and grieving the death of her cousin, Bruce Banner. It sounds like Jen will be wearing the emotional scars left behind by Civil War II, coupled with the bubbling rage of being a Hulk. Judging by the logline, it sounds like they’ll be taking a deep dive into how being a Hulk affects Jen’s psyche, and her battle to find a balance with her regular life.

The first issue of Hulk hits stands on Dec. 28.
