Matt Ryan leads the Justice League Dark as John Constantine in first animated movie trailer

The first trailer for the newest DC Universe original animated movie Justice League Dark has finally been unleashed. Not only that, but we have news as to the movie's rating.

Directed by Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns), the script was penned by Ernie Altbacker from a story by Altbacker and J.M. DeMatteis (Green Lantern: The Animated Series). Slated for a Blu-ray, DVD and Digital release in early 2017, IGN reports that Justice League Dark will also be R-rated; like Batman: The Killing Joke before it, because it apparently features “some disturbing violence.” Mmm... interesting. Though I'm not sure it can get more disturbing than The Killing Joke.

As you can see from the trailer below, the Justice League — led by Batman (Jason O’Mara) — has to seek out the help of occult detective John Constantine (Matt Ryan) when supernatural forces (something the "regular" Justice League is ill equipped to tackle head on) threatens the world. So it’s up to Constantine to assemble a team of supernatural superheroes that include Swamp Thing (Roger R. Cross), Deadman (Nicholas Turturro), Zatanna (Camilla Luddington) and Etrigan the Demon (Ray Chase) to save us all. Yep,. should be a boatload of supernatural fun. I'm sooo in!

Chek out the new trailer below (be sure to stick around for Batman's hilarious quip: "I have a butler"), and let us know what you think. Are you looking forward to Justice League Dark? What do you think of the R-rating?
