TV THIS WEEK: Teen Wolf, Vigilante on Arrow, long-lost Doctor Who airs, Channel Zero ends, and more

Welcome to TV This Week! Your one-stop shop for all the cool sci-fi and fantasy stuff you should be watching over the next seven days!

The CW’s full slate of superhero shows are all new this week, and they’re packing more than a few great DC additions. James Olsen’s version of the Guardian is poised to make his debut on Supergirl, while Vigilante will show up for the first time on Arrow. Over on Legends of Tomorrow, the gang will be heading back in time to hang out with Jonah Hex again. Moving to Flash, we’ll finally get some development on Wally’s journey to become Kid Flash.

This week also brings the season premiere of MTV’s hit series Teen Wolf, along with the season finale of FX’s Salem-focused run of American Horror Story and the finale of Syfy's super-creepy Channel Zero: Candle Cove. Heading into the weekend, we’ll have fresh Walking Dead and Westworld to dig into, plus a re-created version of the long-lost 1960s Doctor Who episode "The Power of Daleks."

Highlights

Teen Wolf (MTV), Tuesday, 9 p.m. - “Memory Lost”

SEASON PREMIERE: In the Season 6 premiere, a supernatural force crosses paths with Scott and his friends. Liam, meanwhile, discovers evidence of a new enemy in the high school.

 

Channel Zero: Candle Cove (Syfy), Tuesday, 9 p.m. - “Welcome Home”

SEASON FINALE: Mike prepares to confront Candle Cove and save his daughter Lily, while Marla is faced with making an impossible choice.

 

Arrow (The CW), Wednesday, 8 p.m. - “Vigilante”

When the bodies of two criminals are dropped at SCPD, Oliver realizes there is a new vigilante in Star City and the team becomes divided over whether they should stop someone who is helping keep the city safe. Meanwhile, Diggle gets frustrated with his new situation; and Thea fights for Lance who confesses a shocking secret. In flashbacks, Oliver finally sits down with Konstantin Kovar.

 

DC's Legends of Tomorrow (The CW), Thursday, 8 p.m. - “Outlaw Country”

The Legends travel to the Old West and learn Jonah Hex is in trouble with his arch-nemesis Quentin Turnbull, who wants to conquer the West and make it his own lawless territory. Meanwhile, Rory is ecstatic to be in the Wild West, but Sara makes Amaya work with him to keep him on task, which is easier said than done.

 

Doctor Who (BBC America), Saturday, 8:25 p.m. - "The Power of Daleks Episode One"

Part 1 of 6. The Doctor visits an Earth colony on planet Vulcan to discover a murder has been committed. 

Monday

Gotham (Fox), Monday, 8 p.m. - “Mad City: The Executioner”

Suspicious of Barnes, Gordon and Bullock examine the evidence of the murder at Lee and Mario's engagement party; Nygma turns to Penguin when he hasn't heard from Isabella; and Ivy reveals her identity to Selina and Bruce.

 

Supergirl (The CW), Monday, 8 p.m. - “Changing”

The Guardian makes his debut in National City to lend a hand after a parasite alien drains Supergirl of her power; at the same time, Mon-El considers a less-than-desirable career change; and Alex struggles with a new reality.

 

 

Mars (National Geographic), Monday, 9 p.m. - "Novo Mundo"

In 2033, the first human mission to Mars enters its atmosphere, while currently, SpaceX attempts to land the world’s first reusable rocket

 

People of Earth (TBS), Monday, 9 p.m. - “Past, Present and Future”

Ozzie's former boss makes an unexpected visit to Beacon. Meanwhile, Gina goes down memory lane as the origin of StarCrossed is revealed.

Lucifer (Fox), Monday, 9 p.m. - “Trip to Stabby Town”

When a human steals Azrael's blade, Lucifer links the theft to a rash of violent stabbings that point to a local yoga studio. Meanwhile, Chloe digs into the murders and Lucifer seeks help from Ella in finding the sword and stopping the carnage.

 

Scorpion (CBS), Monday, 10 p.m. - “Sly and the Family Stone”

The team travel to Ireland to attend Megan's memorial, but Walter discovers a natural disaster in a nearby lake created a poisonous cloud that's threatening the entire village. Meanwhile, Cabe and Toby try to alleviate tension between Tim and Walter.

 

Timeless (NBC), Monday, 10 p.m. - “The Watergate Tape”

Secrets surface when the trio land in Watergate-era Washington, D.C., where Rufus and Lucy's investigative course leaves them rattled and shaken. Meanwhile, Wyatt's tragic past comes to light, and secrets about Flynn's hidden agenda emerge.

Tuesday

The Flash (The CW), Tuesday, 8 p.m. - “Shade”

When Wally starts having dreams about being Kid Flash, Barry realizes he has to tell Wally, Iris and Joe about what happened to Wally in Flashpoint in order to keep him safe.

Scream Queens (Fox), Tuesday, 9 p.m. - “Chanel Pour Homme-icide”

The frightful events of Halloween force Dean Munsch to notify authorities of murders at the Institute, which leads to a surprising influx of new patients. Meanwhile,Chanel is tired of doing dirty work, so she concocts a plan that entails recruiting new patients to join the Chanels. Later, Zayday and Chanel #5 visit a person with ties to the hospital's past; and a new patient's problems have the staff going a bit mad.

In an enhanced episode, a teenager with paranormal abilities matches wits against a cagey demon intent on engineering the teen's demise.

MacGyver (CBS), Friday, 8 p.m. - “Chisel”

 With only a chisel and matchbook, MacGyver and team must defend themselves the U.S. embassy workers in Latvia from extremists who are attempting to retrieve their leader. Also, Bozer faces a big decision now that he knows who Mac really is,

 

The Vampire Diaries (The CW), Friday, 8 p.m. - “Coming Home Was a Mistake”

Damon spirals down a dangerous path of self-destruction, which forces Stefan to make a gut-wrenching decision that threatens to change their relationship forever. Meanwhile, Bonnie gets advice from Caroline on how to break through to Enzo; and Matt attempts to decipher a mysterious box of messages that he received. Finally, after tragedy strikes close to home, Stefan and the others are forced to remember what matters most to them.

Doc and Addy work to convince Lucy's family to go with them; at the same time, Murphy puts 10K's allegiance to the test.

A man moves into a house that's believed to be haunted by dark entities that have been preying on the property's residents for years.

The Exorcist (Fox), Friday, 9 p.m. - “Chapter Eight: The Griefbearers”

More conflict surfaces as Marcus, Tomas and Mother Bernadette race to defeat the demon. Also: the church's enemies get aggressive as the Pope's visit approaches; Angela encounters a familiar face from her past; and Kat ponders a new future.

 

Van Helsing (Fox), Friday, 10 p.m. - “Stay Away”

Vanessa and the group are left reeling from the dire events of "The Farm" when they come upon a band of humans who have brokered a peace with the vampires. But not all is well with their leader, who seems to be hiding a terrible secret; at the same time, the serial killer's identity is revealed.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (BBC America), Saturday, 9 p.m. - "Very Erectus"

As Dirk and Todd embark on a hunt for Patrick Spring's dark enigmas, Todd reveals a deep-seated secret of his own. Detectives Estevez and Zimmerfield take big risks as they inch closer to the truth of their missing person’s investigation, and Amanda finally confronts the looming specter of the Rowdy 3.

Ghost Adventures (Travel), Saturday, 9 p.m. - "St. Anne's Retreat"

St. Anne's Retreat in Logan Canyon, Utah, is investigated by the crew for its legends of dead nuns and hellhounds, which is what drew a group of teenagers in 1997 to the property, where they were ultimately held hostage and terrorized by three night watchmen.

Sunday

Ash vs. Evil Dead (Starz), Sunday, 9 p.m. - "Ashy Slashy"

Ruby, Kelly and Pablo search an abandoned asylum for Ash and Baal and encounter some crazies who are all part of Baal's attempt to break Ash and find the Necronomicon.

 

The Librarians (TNT), Sunday, 9 p.m. - "And the Rise of the Chaos"

SEASON PREMIERE: The Librarians clash with the Egyptian God of Chaos, who inhabits a human body and intends to release pure evil into the world. The Librarians must decode a succession of clues at a science museum in order to thwart Chaos. The Season 3 premiere.

 

The Walking Dead (AMC), Sunday 9 p.m. - "Go Getters"

Surrounded by enemies and saddled with grief, members of the group hope to find safety at the Hilltop before it's too late.

 

Westworld (HBO), Sunday, 9 p.m. - "Trace Decay" ​

Teddy is disturbed by painful memories; Maeve hopes for a change in her script; Dolores has trouble separating her dreams from reality; Bernard is ordered to return to business as usual; the Man in Black looks to the past to explain the present.

 

The Last Man on Earth (Fox), Sunday, 9:30 p.m. - "Mama's Hideaway" ​

A family photo shoot becomes Carol's obsession. Meanwhile, Lewis finds a new hobby; Melissa goes on a mission; and Gail stumbles into a frightening predicament.

 

Elementary (CBS), Sunday, 10:30 p.m. - "Bang Bang Shoot Chute"

Holmes and Watson search for two murderers after a base jumper is shot out of the sky by one killer and has his parachute sabotaged by another. Meanwhile, Joan takes drastic measures to ensure that Shinwell isn't drawn back into a life of crime after her sister sees him with a member of his old gang.
