Watch: The cast of Midnight, Texas on doing 'True Blood in the Lone Star State'

Fans of sexy, small-town vampires have been looking for a True Blood replacement for a while now — so we caught up with the cast of Midnight, Texas to talk about if NBC’s new series can fill the void.

The TV series, based on the book series by True Blood author Charlaine Harris, tells a supernatural soap drama set in a small town (sound familiar?). We talked to cast members Sarah Ramos, Francois Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Paris Fitz-Henley, Arielle Kebel and Peter Mensah about how they’ll be weaving the vamps and witches into the threads of a deeper community and family drama.

The cast teases how the narrative kicks off early in the season, as a newcomer to Midnight starts to cause problem for the town’s mysterious residents. Despite all the ghastly visuals, the cast promises they’ll be grounding all the out-of-this-world stuff with human relationships to tie it all together.
