TV THIS WEEK: People of Earth debuts, alien fight club on Supergirl, and Ghost Rider's origin on S.H.I.E.L.D.

Welcome to TV This Week! Your one-stop shop for all the cool sci-fi and fantasy stuff you should be watching over the next seven days!

We’re light on debuts, but if you’re looking for an outside-the-box comedy, TBS will be launching the new sitcom People of Earth this week. The show stars Daily Show alum Wyatt Cenac and follows a support group for alien abductees. There’s also a full slate of new superhero shows over at The CW, with everything from alien fight clubs on Supergirl to Human Target’s Arrow debut on the way.

As usual, Sunday is also genre-heavy, with new episodes of Westworld and Ash vs. Evil Dead (two shows on the exact opposite sides of a very awesome coin).

Highlights

Supergirl (The CW), Monday, 8 p.m. - “Survivors”

Thrilled to have found another Martian, Hank is determined to get to know M'Gann better; Kara and Alex take notice of an alien fight club run by Roulette while investigating an unregistered alien's murder; and Supergirl starts training Mon-El, whom she has taken under her wing.

 

People of Earth (TBS), Monday, 9 p.m. - “Pilot,” “Sponsored By.”

New York journalist Ozzie Graham (Wyatt Cenac) arrives at a support group for alien abductees when investigating a suspicious car accident in the series premiere of this ensemble comedy. Then: Gerry tries to win Ozzie over. Meanwhile, Chelsea opens up to Father Doug about her marriage, and tensions escalate when Jeff, Don and Kurt prepare for an alien invasion.

 

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Tuesday, 10 p.m. - “The Good Samaritan”

Robbie's back story is revealed as Coulson and his team fight for their lives.

Monday

AMC Fear Fest (AMC), Monday (All Day) - Halloween movie marathon

If you're looking for something to keep on in the background to get you in the Halloween spirit, AMC will be airing an all-day marathon featuring a smattering of Halloween films. Nothing says "Happy Halloween" like an unkillable, masked serial killer.

Gotham (Fox), Monday, 8 p.m. - “Mad City: Red Queen”

The Mad Hatter sends Gordon on a psychedelic trip of his past, present and future; and Penguin struggles with Nygma's new relationship.

Paranormal Lockdown (TLC), Monday, 9 p.m. - “100 Hours at Black Monk House”

Nick and Katrina face one of the greatest challenges of their careers in England when they confront a violent poltergeist at the Black Monk House during a 100-hour investigation.

Lucifer (Fox), Monday, 9 p.m. - “Monster”

During an investigation, Lucifer and Chloe clash, so she partners up with Dan instead. Meanwhile, Amenadiel and Charlotte bond, and Maze takes Trixie trick-or-treating for Halloween.

 

Scorpion (CBS), Monday, 10 p.m. - “Bat Poop Crazy”

The team ventures into a vast cave system to prevent a bat population from destroying the North American ecosystem before Halloween. Then, the team helps stage pictures of Halloweens from Walter's past for his upcoming immigration inspection.

Timeless (NBC), Monday, 10 p.m. - “The Alamo”

The team gets stranded at the Battle of the Alamo, a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. They learn about trust and sacrifice as they face insurmountable odds and no hope of rescue.

Tuesday

The Flash (The CW), Tuesday, 8 p.m. - “Monster”

Caitlin visits her mother, a renowned biomedical researcher, to see if she can help with her growing meta-human powers. But her mom treats her like a test subject, which results in a major confrontation. Meanwhile, a mysterious new meta-human attacks Central City, and Barry tries to convince Julian to let him assist on the case.

 

Channel Zero: Candle Cove (Syfy), Tuesday, 9 p.m. - “A Strange Vessel”

More information about the murders of 1988 comes to light when Mike's daughter Lily mysteriously arrives in Iron Hill; and Mike and Jessica take drastic measures to heal the past and protect Lilly from Candle Cove.

 

Scream Queens (Fox), Tuesday, 9 p.m. - “Chanel Pour Homme-icide”

The frightful events of Halloween force Dean Munsch to notify authorities of murders at the Institute, which leads to a surprising influx of new patients. Meanwhile,Chanel is tired of doing dirty work, so she concocts a plan that entails recruiting new patients to join the Chanels. Later, Zayday and Chanel #5 visit a person with ties to the hospital's past; and a new patient's problems have the staff going a bit mad.

Aftermath (Syfy), Tuesday, 10 p.m. - “Madame Sosostris”

The family splits up, with Josh leading his group to a nearby university in hopes of finding a seemingly prophetic professor. Meanwhile, Karen and her group set out to replenish their supplies at a summer camp.

Arrow (The CW), Wednesday, 8 p.m. - “Human Target”

Oliver turns to old friend Christopher Chance, aka the Human Target, for help when Tobias Church captures and tortures one of Oliver's new recruits. Meanwhile, Felicity's worlds collide when Det. Malone joins the ACU.

 

Blindspot (NBC), Wednesday, 8 p.m. - “Do Not Slack, the Featherweight Wins”

Jane and Weller vanish while working undercover, so the team try to locate their whereabouts by questioning two criminals who have beneficial info. Elsewhere, someone who has a vendetta against the team resurfaces.

Frequency (The CW), Wednesday, 9 p.m. - “Seven Three”

Frank and Raimy uncover clues from the past to help solve a present-day murder case, triggering Raimy's memories of her first day with the NYPD. Meanwhile, Raimy learns more about Stan, causing friction between her and Satch; and Frank grows jealous, as he attempts to give Julie space.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow (The CW), Thursday, 8 p.m. - “Abominations”

The Legends discover a time aberration in 1863 and must fight for survival during the Civil War with Confederate soldiers who have been turned into zombies. With the Civil War outcome hanging in the balance, Jax participates in a daring mission by going to a slave plantation with Amaya. Meanwhile, Sara begins to feel the burden of the decisions she has to make as the leader; and Ray struggles to find his purpose on the team.

 

 

The Big Bang Theory (CBS), Thursday, 8 p.m. - “The Veracity Elasticity”

In order to remain Sheldon's roomie, Amy fibs about repairs being made to her apartment . Later, they present an episode of "Fun With Flags" in Penny's apartment.

 

The Good Place (NBC), Thursday, 8:30 p.m. - “...Someone Like Me as a Member”

Michael faces a challenge when he tries to resolve an unprecedented situation. In addition, Chidi makes a connection, to Eleanor's chagrin, and a different side of Janet emerges.

 

Supernatural (The CW), Thursday, 9 p.m. - “Amercian Nightmare”

Sam and Dean investigate a case that leads them to a devout religious family who live off the grid. The brothers realize that the parents are hiding a huge secret that could destroy them all. Meanwhile, Dean struggles to accept Mary's latest decision.

 

Falling Water (USA), Thursday, 10 p.m. - “Castles Made of Sand”

Burton's controlled façade crumbles; Taka and Sabine find an unexpected intimacy; and Tess seeks solace with a dying ex-lover.

A Haunting (TLC), Friday, 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. - “Back From the Dead: Evil Rises”

In an enhanced episode, a woman assumes orbs she notices in some photos are images of friendly spirits. However, when a dark entity begins tormenting her family, she realizes they are dealing with evil and steps need to be taken to protect her loved ones.

MacGyver (CBS), Friday, 8 p.m. - “Can Opener”

MacGyver goes undercover as a prison inmate in a maximum security prison to help a notorious drug kingpin escape so he can track him to his cartel's secret location.

The Vampire Diaries (The CW), Friday, 8 p.m. - “You Decided That I Was Worth Saving”

Enzo continues to fight the control over him; Bonnie is forced to make a heart-wrenching decision involving two of the most important people in her life; Alaric researches a mysterious artifact that may help bring Damon and Enzo back; Damon's downward spiral leads him to Tyler Lockwood who tries to talk some sense into him before it's too late.

 

Z Nation (Syfy), Friday, 9 p.m. - “Election Day”

Doc and Addy run into some old "friends" after hitting the road on a mission to find Lucy.

 

The Exorcist (Fox), Friday, 9 p.m. - “Chapter Six: Star of the Morning”

Casey's story goes public, causing a media frenzy for the Rance family and throwing Father Tomas into the spotlight. Elsewhere: Father Bennett attends a papal planning event and Marcus scours the city's underbelly for answers.

 

Van Helsing (Syfy), Friday, 10 p.m. - “Little Thing”

Axel leads the surviving members of the group to his old military base, which he hopes to use for shelter, but arrives to find it abandoned and in disrepair. In need of a safe refuge with vampires closing in all around them, the decision is made to go underground. Meanwhile, Mohamad navigates hostile territory while trying to catch up to Vanessa.

Saturday

Star Wars Rebels (Disney XD), Saturday, 8:30 p.m. - “Imperial Supercommandos”

Having lost contact with the Protectors of Concord Dawn, Sabine, Ezra and Fenn Rau investigate but find the base has been taken over by Imperial Mandalorians.

 

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (BBC America), Saturday, 9 p.m. - “Rogue Wall Enthusiasts”

Farah and Dirk unearth a big clue after searching through Patrick Spring's past. Elsewhere: Tood learns he has no safe harbor after trying to go to the police and Amanda encounters a looming presence.

Ghost Adventures (Travel), Saturday, 9 p.m. - “Aftershocks: Riddle House; Pioneer Saloon”

A local psychic helps uncover a grim past at the historic Riddle House in West Palm Beach, Fla.; Zak, Nick and Aaron travel to Goodsprings, Nev., to investigate a century-old Pioneer Saloon.

Ash vs. Evil Dead (Starz), Sunday, 8 p.m. - "Trapped Inside"

Ash and the team are trapped in Brock's house by an angry mob; Ruby attempts to summon a spell to send Baal back to the netherworld; and Ash is finally able to prove to the townsfolk that he is not a murderer but a hero.

 

Once Upon a Time (ABC), Sunday, 8 p.m. - "Heartless"

The contents of this bottle could destroy the people of Storybrooke. Now the countdown is on and danger lurks around every corner

 

Son of Zorn (Fox), Sunday, 8:30 p.m. - "A Tale of Two Zorns"

Zorn tries to get a video game for Alan by using a body double dummy so he can sneak out of work to get it. Also: Edie and Linda reach a boiling point and beat up "Meka-Zorn."

The Walking Dead (AMC), Sunday, 9 p.m. - "The Cell" ​

A completely new group of survivors living in an impressive community that seems to have it all, but for? a price, is introduced.

 

Westworld (HBO), Sunday, 9 p.m. - "The Adversary" ​

Lutz is charmed by Maeve; Elsie discovers evidence that could point to sabotage; the Man in Black and Teddy clash with a garrison.

 

The Last Man on Earth (Fox), Sunday, 9:30 p.m. - "The Power of Power" ​

The search for a new home isn't easy for the group, especially when someone may be deliberately trying to stop them. Meanwhile, the love triangle between Todd, Gail and Melissa starts losing steam.

 

Elementary (CBS), Sunday, 10:30 p.m. - "To Catch a Predator Predator"

Holmes and Watson investigate the murder of a man who led a secret life as a vigilante. The victim outed sexual predators on dating sites and publicly shamed them. Meanwhile, Sherlock disagrees with Joan's plan to help Shinwell when his criminal record prevents him from getting a full-time job.
