Watch: Meet Jacob LaRocca, the cosplay paramedic of New York Comic Con

Cosplay is awesome, but it’s also a lot of hard work. So what happens when you hit the con after all those hours of prep and something breaks? You call Jacob Larocca, that’s what.

LaRocca hit New York Comic Con this year loaded with a rig that would make even the most hardcore cosplayers blush. But his outfit wasn’t a costume — it was a mobile ambulance for cosplay emergencies. From sewing tools to hot glue guns, to tape, clips and pins to put just about anything back together, LaRocca has it all.

We caught up with LaRocca to talk about what leads a man to want to forego cosplay for the care of others, and also touch on some of the craziest and weirdest stuff he’s encountered along the way. Turns out LaRocca is an avid cosplayer himself (who better to make repairs than a guy who understands this kit?) and thought giving back to the community would be a cool way to interact with fans at NYCC.

So if you ever have a cosplay emergency on the convention floor, look up Rocket Props on Twitter and hope they’re close enough to help.
