TV THIS WEEK: Supergirl, Legends, Supernatural return; Channel Zero, Falling Water debut

Welcome to TV This Week! Your one-stop shop for all the cool sci-fi and fantasy stuff you should be watching over the next seven days!

The CW had so many superhero shows the network had to break the premieres up across two weeks. Following Flash and Arrow last week, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl debut this week. The CW’s Supernatural also returns this week.

If you’re looking for something on the scary side, Syfy’s new anthology horror series Channel Zero: Candle Cove premieres this week. Along with those newbies, we get new episodes of Gotham, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Exorcist.

Highlights of the Week

SEASON PREMIERE! Supergirl (The CW), Monday, 8 p.m. - “The Adventures of Supergirl”

Supergirl's famous cousin You Know Who arrives on the scene to help her deal with a new threat to the citizens of National City. Superman is pretty great, by the way. Meanwhile, Cat Grant encourages her young protégé to make a bold decision in both her personal and professional lives. Oh, and Hank and Supergirl are stunned by the alien pod that crashed to Earth.


SERIES PREMIERE: Channel Zero: Candle Cove (Syfy), Tuesday, 9 p.m. - “You Have to Go Inside”

Based on that Creepypasta that probably gave you nightmares. The return of a kids' TV show from the 1980s coincides with the disappearance of a young person in the premiere of this series, which revolves around a child psychologist's investigation into the 1988 murders of several children, including his twin brother.


SEASON PREMIERE! Legends of Tomorrow (The CW), Thursday, 9 p.m. - “Out of Time”

Season 2 begins with Dr. Nate Heywood, an unconventional historian, making a shocking discovery about the. Nate then seeks out Oliver Queen for help to find the scattered Legends. Once reunited, they try to protect Albert Einstein from being kidnapped before the Nazis destroy New York City with a nuclear bomb. Meanwhile, Ray notices that Sara has a mission of her own, which leads them both to face her nemesis, Damien Darhk.


SERIES PREMIERE: Falling Water (USA), Thursday, 11 p.m. - “Don't Tell Bill”

The premiere of mind-bending drama about three disparate people who discover that they share a subconscious link via a dream.


Gotham (Fox), Monday, 8 p.m. - “New Day Rising”

Penguin narrows in on the mayoral nomination as Gordon turns Alice over to the GCPD for the bounty. Bruce and Alfred also continue to search for Bruce's doppleganger after discovering  he has apparently assumed Bruce's identity.



Milo Murphy's Law (Disney XD), 8 p.m. - “Rooting for the Enemy; The Undergrounders”

Milo goes to his first football game (we’re sure that’ll go well); and Milo discovers an underground city.

SEASON PREMIERE! Supergirl (The CW), Monday, 8 p.m. - “The Adventures of Supergirl”

The Big Bang Theory (CBS), Monday, 8 p.m. - “The Cohabitation Experimentation”

Sheldon and Amy decide to move in together when her apartment floods. Meanwhile, Howard and Bernadette become upset when Koothrappali learns the gender of the baby before they do.

Lucifer (Fox), Monday, 9 p.m. - “Sin-Eater”

When two gruesome murder videos appear on a social-media site, Lucifer and Chloe deduce they have a serial killer on their hands. Meanwhile, Lucifer's mom returns, while Amenadiel, who is struggling with a loss of power, meets with Linda.


Timeless (NBC), Monday, 10 p.m. - “The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln”

Terrorist Garcia Flynn connects with notorious assassin John Wilkes Booth. Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus chase Flynn to the night of Abraham Lincoln's assassination. Also, Lucy must put aside a tragedy of her own, and the trio debate altering history.


The Flash (The CW), Tuesday, 8 p.m. - “Paradox”

Nope, it wasn’t over last week. Barry realizes the effects from Flashpoint are much greater than he thought. Meanwhile, Barry meets new co-worker Julian Albert and is surprised by Julian's immediate disdain for Barry.

Halt and Catch Fire (AMC), Tuesday, 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., - “NIM,” “NeXT”

Donna envisions a new future for the Internet and attempts to bring everyone together at Comdex. Meanwhile, Gordon takes on a strong-willed Joanie.

Scream Queens (Fox), Tuesday, 9 p.m. - “Handidates"

Dean Munsch, Denise and the Chanels question Hester about the killer, as well as the sole survivor of the Halloween massacre, while Chad believes Brock to be the culprit and makes a shocking proposal to Chanel. Later, a patient arrives with an incredible disorder that leads Chanel #3 and Cassidy to become closer.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Tuesday, 10 p.m. - “Uprising”

May fights for her life as her illness worsens and Simmons and Dr. Radcliffe try to save her. Also: Coulson, Mack and Fitz attempt to thwart a rogue group looking to end Inhuman Registration.


Aftermath (Syfy), Tuesday, 10 p.m. - “In Our Empty Rooms”

The only man with the cure to the plague is encountered by members of the Copeland family; and a religious commune led by the mysterious Reverend Brother offer refuge to the Copeland's kidnapped daughter.

Arrow (The CW), Wednesday, 8 p.m. - “The Recruits”

Oliver's new recruits for Team Arrow are Curtis, Wild Dog and Evelyn Sharp. Unfortunately, the Green Arrow's training methods prove to be too much for some of them to handle. In flashbacks, Oliver's initiation into the Bratva continues.


Blindspot (NBC), Wednesday, 8 p.m. - “Condone Untidiest Thefts”

A politician is nearly killed by an assassin for the Irish mob during a rally, so the team join forces with U.S. Marshal Allie Knight to hunt down a mob leader.

Frequency (The CW), Wednesday, 9 p.m. - “Signal and Noise”

Raimy informs Frank that her mother will be murdered unless he can prevent the crime from occurring. Meanwhile, Raimy follows a lead in the Nightingale case, as Frank and Satch pursue the same lead back in 1996.


Ghost Hunters (Syfy), Wednesday, 9 p.m. - “Haunting of the Garde”

The team investigate a theater built in the 1920s, which is rumored to be haunted by a prominent New London whaling family who lived in a mansion that once stood on the site.

American Horror Story: 6 (FX), Wednesday, 10 p.m. - “Chapter 5”

Chapter 5 of "American Horror Story: 6.”

Paranormal Witness (Syfy), Wednesday, 10 p.m. - “The Hotel”

The owners of an old Victorian hotel worry that a bride who's having her fairytale wedding at the site could have her day ruined if they don't confront the hotel's chilling history and the legend of a ghostly watchman.

The Good Place (NBC), Thursday, 9:30 p.m. - “What We Owe to Each Other”

Eleanor is enlisted to help Michael with a crucial mission that could decide her destiny in the Good Place. Also: Chidi helps a friend by agreeing to be a third wheel.

SEASON PREMIERE! Supernatural (The CW), Thursday, 10 p.m. - “Keep Calm and Carry On”

Season 12 begins with Dean becoming overwhelmed when he comes face-to-face with his mother, Mary Winchester. Meanwhile, Sam fights for his life after Toni, from the Woman of Letters, shoots him.

MacGyver (CBS), Friday, 8 p.m. - “Wire Cutter”

The team tries to shut down a warhead in Moscow and need help from a Russian bomb programmer and his estranged handler, but a problem arises when the computer needed to disable the warhead malfunctions.

Z Nation (Syfy), Friday, 9 p.m. - “Little Red and the Wolfz"

A pack of wolves stalk 10K, who is injured and all alone.


The Exorcist (Fox), Friday, 9 p.m. - “Chapter Four: The Moveable Feast”

Angela becomes restless as her daughter's condition worsens while the demon targets innocent people. Also: Father Tomas gets a visitor from his past; Marcus receives guidance from an unlikely source; and an unsanctioned exorcism is debated.


Van Helsing (Syfy), Friday, 10 p.m. - “Fear Her”

Vanessa is forced to demonstrate her powers against someone from her past while still being held in the clutches of Julius and his vampire brood. Elsewhere, the refugees comes to believe that a serial killer is among them as they plot to wrestle control from Axel.


Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man vs. the Sinister 6 (Disney XD), Saturday, 8 p.m. - “Spider Slayers - Part 2”

Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider try to infiltrate the sunken Hydra Island so Scarlet can destroy the lab that created him.

Star Wars Rebels (Disney XD), Saturday, 8:30 p.m. - “Hera's Heroes”

Hera's rebel supply mission to Ryloth becomes personal when she and the Ghost crew brave overwhelming Imperial forces to recover a memento from her ancestral home.

Ghost Adventures (Travel), Saturday, 9 p.m. - “Reseda House of Evil”

A home in Reseda, Cal., is rumored to be so evil that inhabitants become drug addicts and some have been driven to suicide. During Zak and the crew's investigation, emotions run high and it becomes a struggle for everyone to keep their sanity.


Ash vs. Evil Dead (Starz), Sunday, 9 p.m. - "Last Call"

Local teens raise hell when they steal the Delta from Brock’s house. Ash and his best buddy Chet devise a plan to throw a party at the bar, lure the thieves in, and get the Delta and the Necronomicon back .

Once Upon a Time (ABC), Sunday, 9 p.m. - "Strange Case"

The untold story of Jekyll and Hyde. One man, two personalities. 


The Simpsons (Fox), Sunday, 9 p.m. - "Treehouse of Horror XXVII"

"Treehouse of Horror XXVII" features Mr. Burns organizing a Hunger Games-style contest pitting Springfield children against each other and Lisa's imaginary best friend killing Lisa's real friends in a fit of jealousy, while Moe recruits Bart to take Homer's place as a covert agent.

Son of Zorn (Fox), Sunday, 9:30 p.m. - "The Weekend Warrior" ​

Zorn tries to be a "cool dad" when Alan comes to visit, but things go off track when a friend of Alan's visits.

The Walking Dead: The Journey So Far (AMC), Sunday, 10 p.m.

The cast and producers of "The Walking Dead" recount the epic journey that the characters have experienced through the first six seasons of the show.

Westworld (HBO), Sunday, 9 p.m. - "The Stray" ​

Dolores finds herself alone in Sweetwater when Teddy chases a new villain; Elsie and Stubbs go on a mission to retrieve a host who's gone missing in the hills; Bernard tries to get to the bottom of the hosts' hysteria and hallucinations; William persuades Logan to join his latest pursuit.

The Last Man on Earth (Fox), Sunday, 10:30 p.m. - "You're All Going to Diet"

Phil installs an alarm system in the house, but Melissa has already beaten him to it with her own security plans. Meanwhile, a change in scenery could do the group some good.


The Strain (FX), Sunday, 11 p.m. -"White Light" ​

The Master's voice emerges and proves overwhelming; Fet and Setrakian search for cargo from the Egyptian vessel; and Quinlan agrees to a deal with the Ancients, but a betrayal afterward proves deadly.
