Ridley Scott reveals the title of Prometheus 2, and it has an Alien connection

Following the stunning news that legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott was planning not two but three more Prometheus sequels, the director officially revealed the title of Prometheus 2.

So, what will it be?

In an interview with Hey U Guys, Scott revealed that Prometheus 2 will actually be called [insert the sound of drumrolls] Alien: Paradise Lost! And yes, the title is borrowing from Milton’s epic poem Paradise Lost. But what’s even cooler is that it clearly links Prometheus to Alien. Scott said:

"Actually, it’s going to be called Alien: Paradise Lost, so Prometheus 2 isn’t what it’s really going to be. You know the poem? I doubt you’ve ever been through it, have you? The poem’s a book, Paradise Lost! It sounds intellectual, but there’s a similarity to it, and that’s where it stops."

In the rest of the interview, Scott talks about The Martian and working with NASA for the upcoming sci-fi movie, sending it to the ISS and more. The director also talks about handing over the reins of the upcoming Blade Runner sequel to someone else, Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario). Check it all out, with the big Alien: Paradise Lost reveal around the 3:20 mark:

What do you think of the title Alien: Paradise Lost? Do you think it makes a lot more sense not to call the sequel Prometheus 2
