The CW's Supernatural takes a trippy, dark turn in first trailer for Season 11

The first trailer for the latest season of The CW's Supernatural has arrived, and the world of the Winchesters is turning into a bloody, trippy mess.

For a show that’s officially crossed the decade mark, it looks like they still have some fun stories left to tell. Much of the footage seems to come from the season premiere, as we see Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) running through a hospital where pretty much everyone is bloody and dead. We also get a look at Castiel (Misha Collins) taking a shot at everyone’s favorite demon, Crowley (Mark Sheppard).

The new key art teases that the team is trapped between darkness and deliverance, and show runner Jeremy Carver told E! Online this season will have an “epic feel,” as they work to reunite the brothers after tearing them apart the past few seasons. He also promises a “pre-Biblical story” that’s never been told with the new Big Bad. Judging by the creepy trailer, the snow still has the wherewithal to freak us out — which is good.

Check out the trailer below, and stick around for the nice Ghostbusters nod at the end:

The 11th season of Supernatural premieres October 7 on The CW.
