Simon Pegg channels Shaun of the Dead in new clip from Absolutely Anything

Simon Pegg has an intriguing new comedy film on the way, and the latest clip brings back some beloved nostalgia for Shaun of the Dead. Well played.

Dubbed Absolutely Anything, the British comedy stars Pegg as a schoolteacher given godlike powers by a group of aliens. Think Bruce Almighty with more aliens and less religion, plus Simon Pegg. The new clip from the film finds Pegg’s Neil making an offhand comment about bringing some people back to life, which ends up causing a brief zombie apocalypse. Oops.

Along with Pegg, the sci-fi comedy also stars Kate Beckinsale, though it’s the voice actors who’ll almost certainly steal the show. Pegg’s talking dog is voiced by the late Robin Williams, and the troublemaking aliens are voiced by Monty Python alums Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam, John Cleese and Eric Idle. Oh, and the film is directed by Jones. So, yeah, there’s a ton of comedy pedigree here.

Absolutely Anything is set to open later this month in the U.K. Sadly, still no word on a U.S. release (yet).
