The Flash and Arrow show up in first episode of The CW’s Vixen

It might be getting most of the attention, but Legends of Tomorrow isn’t the only Arrow-verse spinoff on the way. Even better? That one you might’ve forgot about is already live.

The CW is looking to launch its online original video service CW Seed with some buzz, so they’ve put together a new animated series set in the same universe as The Flash and Arrow. Dubbed Vixen, the series follows DC Comics character Mari McCabe aka Vixen, a (typically) second-tier comic hero with the power to mimic the abilities of any animal that has ever lived on Earth. Which, yeah, explains why they went the animated route here.

The first episode of Vixen is officially live, and opens with a breathtaking chase scene, with Vixen on the run from The Flash and Arrow (for...some reason?). From there, we pick up with Mari’s life back in Detroit, and they wrap the all-too-brief webisode with a nice cliffhanger. They’re forced to cram a lot into this 4+ minute episode, and it obviously suffers for it, but this could be a fun diversion while we wait for the CW’s flagship shows to return to the air.
