Hiro, Matt Parkman and Mohinder return in new trailer for Heroes: Reborn

A new trailer for NBC’s Heroes: Reborn miniseries has been released, finally giving us a look at some of the fan-favorite heroes back for the revival series.

The new footage shows off Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg) and Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy). The trailer definitely looks good, and it seems to evoke the wonder and ambition of that epic first season. Considering the network is also praying for those rocking, circa-2006 ratings, that’s not much of a surprise.

Reborn will pick up one year after Odessa, Texas, was decimated in a terrorist attack. People with extraordinary abilities are blamed for the event, so most go into hiding to survive. The series will track a variety of new and old characters, including vigilantes Luke (Zachary Levi) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss. Original series character Noah Bennet, aka HRG (Jack Coleman), is off the grid, but conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski) finds him and reveals the truth behind the Odessa tragedy.

The series will also introduce approximately half a dozen new characters, who spend that year in hiding discovering their abilities and learning to control them. This being a Heroes series, it’s all building toward world-saving stakes that should play out within the 13-episode event series.
