Revealed: This is the DC character True Blood's Rutina Wesley will play on Arrow

The identity of the character True Blood’s Rutina Wesley will play in a multi-episode arc on Arrow has been revealed.

It was confirmed (via The Hollywood Reporter) at the Television Critics Association yesterday that Wesley will play police officer Liza Warner, aka Lady Cop, a DC Comics character created back in 1975. Wesley’s Arrow character will be a member of the anti-vigilante task force that'll have a boatload of work to do as Season 4 kicks off with another increase in vigilante activity in Starling City.

In the comics, the character was the sole survivor of a murderer wearing cowboy boots (dubbed the "Killer-in-boots") decorated with a skull and crossbones who killed her two college roommates, an event that ultimately motivated her to become a policewoman so that she could find the murderer. She was later promoted to Chief of Police in Ivy Town and often helped the new Atom, Ryan Choi.

Considering her history with Atom in the comics, does that mean that Rutina Wesley’s Lady Cop could possibly crossover on Legends of Tomorrow at some point even if Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) is the one wearing the suit?

Arrow returns to The CW on Oct. 7.
