It’s been a long wait, and three movies in the making, but we finally have the first full trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. Want to see?
The first Mockingjay wasn’t a bad movie by any means, but you could sense they were just setting the stage for all the good stuff to come. It was a lot of wheel-spinning. Entertaining wheel-spinning, to be sure, but still wheel-spinning. But now we’re happy to report the wheels are definitely back on the road — and they’re burning some rubber.
Judging by the ambitious set pieces and action on display here, this is the war movie we’ve been waiting for ever since the first Hunger Games became a surprise hit and set the stage six years ago. This final chapter finds Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and the army of rebels marching on the capitol, though they face a minefield of deadly traps pulled straight from The Hunger Games playbook. How’s that for symmetry?

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow [Donald Sutherland] in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale [Liam Hemsworth], Finnick [Sam Claflin], and Peeta [Josh Hutcherson] – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem, and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 opens Nov. 20.
