The Flash and Arrow show up in first trailer for The CW's animated super-series Vixen

The first trailer for Vixen has been revealed. The official animated spinoff of The CW’s The Flash and Arrow showcases the titular character of Vixen (Megalyn Echikunwoke) doing a meet-and-greet with Flash, Arrow and Cisco.

The project was first announced back in January and is a CW Seed short-form digital animated series that introduces a character created by Gerry Conway and Bob Oksner in the pages of Action Comics #521 in 1981. Vixen will be introduced in the same world as The CW's hit series The Flash and Arrow (and the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow). What's also really cool about this series is that Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen/Arrow), Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash), Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoakes) and Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon) will voice their live-action TV characters and appear on the animated spinoff. Arrow Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim said back in January:

"Vixen's such a great character.  First of all, she represents magic, which is an area that we haven't explored on either of the two shows just yet. One thing we're always saying is, Flash is very different from Arrow, Arrow is very different from Flash. If Arrow is crime and The Flash is science, Vixen has a big magic component."

Vixen is set to premiere on Aug. 25 on CW Seed.
