Image of the Day: Marvel gives classy high-five to new box office champ Jurassic World

It's nice to know that even the normally cutthroat world of Hollywood can yield to a bit of dignity now and then.

That was the case when Jurassic World's final opening weekend box-office numbers came in earlier this week and it was determined that the film grossed more than $208 million in its first three days -- slightly over a million more than The Avengers' record-setting $207 million debut frame back in 2012.

So, after holding onto that particular record for three years, how did Marvel react? Well, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige tweeted this:

Hollywood is a nest of schadenfreude, with studios often reveling in their rivals' failure (not always publicly, but they do it) and seething at their success, so Feige's congratulatory tweet is a real gesture of class on his part.

Can Jurassic World catch up to the $1.5 billion worldwide total gross of The Avengers (or the $1.4 billion racked up so far by Avengers: Age of Ultron)? That remains to be seen, but something tells us that Jurassic World and its distributor, Universal Pictures, better enjoy that opening weekend record while they can -- a little picture called Star Wars: The Force Awakens might just snatch it from them this December.
