Wentworth Miller opens up about Captain Cold working with the heroes in Legends of Tomorrow

Though the concept of The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow seemed like a strange pitch in itself, one of the weirdest things about the spinoff series is that it added a few well-known villains to the hero roster.

Captain Cold himself, Wentworth Miller, chatted with Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming series and touched on how a few of the Rogues ended up on the other side of the line. Miller couldn’t say too much about how his Leonard Snart will wind up joining the Legends (hey, they've gotta save something for the pilot), though he did speculate on how he thinks the uneasy alliance will play out. Long story short: entertaining.

We already saw Captain Cold dabble on the side of good in the back half of The Flash's first season (it didn’t really go all that well), but it seems he dives in a whole lot deeper once he becomes a series regular with this time-traveling team led by Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill). When asked if his supervillain will actually work well with the heroes, Miller had an interesting answer.

Here’s an excerpt from his comments:

"I hope the answer is no on the way to yes.Because if you stuff a bunch of rabid dogs in a barrel and roll it downhill, that’s something that’s worth watching. In his relationship with his sister, you see he does have a heart. And there are people that he’s willing to put ahead of himself, so now that he’s aligned with these good guys, for better or worse, they’re going to start influencing him and his way of thinking. I’m excited to explore his shades of gray so we see he’s not just a villain, he’s a man."

Legends of Tomorrow will team up Miller’s Snart with Hunter (Darvill), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), Ray Palmer/The ATOM (Brandon Routh), Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) and Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber).

The series, which is set in the Arrow and Flash universe, is slated to debut later this year. How do you think the baddies will fit in?
