Check out the world premiere of wacky sci-fi martial arts short Kung Fury

Here's the online debut for Kung Fury, a Swedish, crowd-funded martial arts comedy short starring a time-traveling kung-fu cop set in a retro world of boomboxes, laser raptors, hackers, headbands and Adolf Hitler.  The phenomenally successful Kickstarter campaign began back in December 2013 and scored more than $630,000 in total donations from 17,000 supporters.

Directed by and starring David Sandberg, the glorious result is this 30-minute genre mashup masterpiece with a sly wit, ingenious action set pieces, epic Odin pecs and enormous cellular telephones.  It was first screened at this year's Cannes Film Festival to the applause of uproarious audiences, and it appears a big-screen feature film version from David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith of KatzSmith Productions is in the works.

Take a deep breath and dive into Kung Fury's addictive '80s insanity.
