Movie FX legend Rick Baker creates his own version of DC Comics' Joker

If you've ever wondered what it would look like if movie effect legend Rick Baker took a crack at DC's most iconic villain, wonder no more. Prepare yourself — it's creepy.

In his spare time, Baker (An American Werewolf in London, Men in Black, The Wolfman) apparently likes to play around with imaging software. His latest creation is framed around Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's redesigned Joker from the recent New 52 comic arc Death in the Family.

Not to dive too deep into spoilers, but the comic story finds the Joker's face being removed and eventually reattached. The comic art is obviously somewhat gruesome considering the subject matter, but Baker's version shows just how unsettling and visceral this thing could look if ever rendered in a more realistic medium.

Seriously. Eew. But awesome. Check out the evolution of his design below:

So, what do you think? Is Baker's design what you'd like to see (someday) on the big screen?
