A new international trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming gothic ghost story Crimson Peak has been unveiled by Legendary and Universal, a mere two days after that haunting second trailer was released.
While the focus of the previous trailer was mostly on Wasikowska’s character, Edith, and the ghosts haunting her, this one feels more intimate in scope as it delves a bit more into her relationship with Tom Hiddleston’s mysterious Sir Thomas. It also features a boatload of new or extended scenes, so that it doesn’t feel like a rehash of the same stuff we’ve seen before. What's also nice about it, is this trailer seems to simply take its time to breathe — like a good wine. Have a look:
When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger, a young woman is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.
The movie stars Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, Stoker), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Tom Hiddleston (Thor, The Avengers), Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Jim Beaver (Supernatural), Burn Gorman (Torchwood) and longtime collaborator Doug Jones (Hellboy).
Crimson Peak — set to be the next opus from Guillermo del Toro (who recently opened up about the cancellation of Silent Hills), who helmed and co-wrote the movie with Matthew Robbins — will open in theaters in time to haunt us for All Hallow’s Eve on Oct. 16, 2016. Is this one on your must-see list?
