Exclusive clip from Salem: Cotton and Wainwright meet...badly

A man of god and a man of science finally meet in the new episode of Salem, and the result is ... prickly. Upon returning to Salem, Cotton Mather (Seth Gabel) encounters Dr. Samuel Wainwright at the tavern, with the intention of lending his assistance in ending the witch plague. He's already having a tough go of it lately, and things are made worse when the good doctor in short order insults Cotton's intelligence, his faith and then his letter to the Royal Society describing the misshapen fetus in a jar from season one.

To add injury to insult, Wainwright tells the Reverend that Sir Isaac Newton and other scientists read Cotton's letter out loud, and it "caused no small mirth." Woo boy, this is not the beginning of a beautiful relationship -- but it is an amusing scene, of which we've an exclusive clip below. Also in this episode, as shown in the photo above, Mary (Janet Montgomery) and Cotton have their own mini-reunion of sorts.
