Another mutant comes back for his third go-round in the X-Men Cinematic Universe (all right, we just made that up).
Bryan Singer revealed via his Instagram account -- which is becoming quite common these days -- that Lucas Till will return as Havok in X-Men: Apocalypse. The actor appeared as the character in both X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, although Havok had a relatively small role in both films.
When we last saw Havok in Days of Future Past, he was serving as a U.S. soldier in Vietnam, but was being processed by General William Stryker for use in Bolivar Trask's experiments. Fortunately for him, Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) breaks Havok -- along with fellow mutants Toad, Ink and Spyke --out of the government's clutches and gets them safely aboard a plane out of the country.
We don't know what the plasma-blasting mutant will be doing in X-Men: Apocalypse, but we're pleased to see him rejoining his old friends Lawrence, Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Rose Byrne (Moira McTaggert) and Evan Peters (Quicksilver), along with new cast members Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Ben Hardy (Angel), and Lana Condor (Jubillee).
We're still waiting for Singer to reconsider bringing back Colossus too. X-Men: Apocalypse is out in theaters May 27, 2016.
