While Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was making the press rounds in order to promote the release of Furious 7, MTV sat down with the actor, where he was asked to give an update about the upcoming Shazam! DC Comics superhero movie (set to be released in 2019), in which he’ll star as Black Adam.
Without revealing too much, Johnson admitted that they hadn’t cast the titular character yet, and that they're still working on the script:
"No, we haven’t picked a Shazam yet, and we have been working on the script. Half the scripts [have] already come in. Fantastic, very excited about it. And what I’m really excited about is — because, again, I’ve lived with this character, and this opportunity for almost 10 years now, so it’s like, in my DNA! I’m like a little kid, and it’s the opportunity to create his journey, but that journey has to start out properly."
Johnson added about his villainous DC Comics character:
"And starting off properly is [Black Adam] not being a hero. That’s got to be earned, so he starts off as a slave. And he’s pissed off, and people are going to pay. But eventually down the line he’ll become an anti-hero."
Johnson also talked about the dual role of the scrawny kid that is Billy Batson, and his muscular and very adult altar ego Shazam (aka Captain Marvel in the DC universe, not the Marvel one) and revealed they’re not yet sure whether they’ll cast two actors or go the Captain America route — meaning they’ll use FX to make the Shazam actor look smaller and thinner (and younger) for the role of Billy:
"I’m not quite too sure yet what we will do. There’s a lot of opportunity, with technology, maybe do a cool face replacement like they did in Captain America. Maybe cast two separate actors, I’m not quite too sure."

What do you guys think? Who would you like to see opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the role of Shazam? And do you think they should cast two actors, or use the same technology they did on Captain America: The First Avenger and Winter Soldier?
