The official twitter for Netflix’s Daredevil has released a pic that could be hinting at a possible connection to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., via the character of Absorbing Man.
The pic shows a poster announcing a boxing match between Carl "Crusher" Creel and "Battlin’" Jack Murdoch — Matt Murdoch (Charlie Cox), aka Daredevil, aka the Man Without Fear's dad. Have a look:
Now, Carl Creel is also known as Absorbing Man in the Marvel comics, a character that has already appeared on ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. early in season two, played by Brian Patrick Wade. Does it mean the actor will reprise his role for the Netflix Marvel series? It’s possible (though not official), but it does raise the question of chronology. If this boxing match takes place roughly 10-20 years into the past, was Wade’s version of Absorbing Man on S.H.I.E.L.D. perhaps Carl Creel Jr.? Could it be the same man? And if so, how is it possible? Questions, questions. But, we have to keep in mind that Marvel always insists (and that's putting it mildly) on the fact that the MCU and their various TV series are all connected like one big spiderweb.
What do you think? Do you believe this pic teases a real connection between Netflix’s Daredevil and ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Or are we making much ado about nothing?
