TV THIS WEEK: A Toy Story special, Scream Queens' finale, and more!

December is an interesting time for this TV roundup, because everything is in such a state of flux. The shows we watched all fall are steadily on their way out for the year, while the shows that will arrive midseason aren't here yet. That means most of what we're talking about are midseason finales, the occasional season finale for abbreviated shows, and lots of special programming. So, this week, we've got a mixture of all of that, including the season finale of Scream Queens, midseason finales for everything from Grimm to The Flash, a celebration of Toy Story, and more.

Check out the week in TV below. What's on your watchlist?

Scream Queens (FOX) Tuesday, 8 p.m. - "Dorkus" and "The Final Girls"

Season finale! - After building his own little horror empire on FX with American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy took to FOX this year with this black comedy, and now we're coming to the end of season one with the show's future uncertain. There have been hints that a second season would take the show to the classic slasher setting of summer camp, but as live ratings have dropped off from more than 4 million viewers for the premiere to a little less than 2.5 million viewers at last count, it's hard to tell what FOX will do with Scream Queens next. Honestly, I think it still has a good chance at being renewed, but it's up in the air right now, and the finale could help decide what happens next. This week, the killer is finally revealed. Check out a preview below.

Scrooged (AMC) Tuesday, 10 p.m.

Bill Murray Alert! - Bill Murray has a new Christmas special out on Netflix right now, but that's not the only chance to celebrate everyone's favorite Ghostbuster Holiday Cheer at the same time. As usual, his Charles Dickens retelling Scrooged is making the rounds on cable this Christmas season, and though you may have seen it dozens of times, I say we should never pass up an opportunity to mix Bill Murray and Christmas. So, go visit Frank Cross again.

Toy Story at 20: To Infinity and Beyond (ABC) Thursday, 8 p.m.

Pixar Special! - Toy Story turned 20 this year, and it did so at a time when the very unexpected Toy Story 4 is on the way as Pixar Animation Studios just keeps going strong. So, to make sure we all remember just how special this franchise has been, Disney is releasing a celebratory special just in time for all the kids to demand a Buzz Lightyear for Christmas.

Z Nation (Syfy) Friday, 10 p.m. - "Day One"

Z Nation is fast approaching the end of its second season, with Season 3 already on the way, but before we see the finale, we get to take a little look back. From the beginning, we all knew this group of characters making its way through the zombie wasteland had California (and the possibility of a cure) as their goal. Now they're there, but before we see what they do next, we get to reminisce a little bit about how this particular zombie apocalypse began.
