The legacy of Star Wars is explored with a new The Force Awakens BTS featurette

A cool new Star Wars: The Force Awakens behind-the-scenes featurette was released over the weekend that talks about the legacy of Star Wars.

Featuring interviews with members of the cast and crew — including director J.J. Abrams, producer Kathleen Kennedy, Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) — the video also has some great, candid BTS footage.

The featurette does pull at your heartstrings (better have some tissues at the ready), and I may have gotten misty-eyed a tad when Mark Hamill said, “We’re going back to these stories that people feel intensely about.” Check it out:

Arriving in this galaxy on Dec. 18, Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow.
