The image of massive alien craft hovering over major world cities is pretty well ingrained in the pop-culture consciousness, thanks mostly to Independence Day and, to a lesser extent, V. But it was Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End that most influenced those depictions, and now that classic piece of sci-fi literature is coming to TV on Syfy (Blastr's corporate parent - Ed.). So, how will this alien invasion stack up?
We've got your first glimpse in an exclusive clip from the upcoming Childhood's End. In it, we see the reactions of various citizens of Earth to the arrival of the alien Overlords, and it's very much a ground-level, intimate thing, complete with shaky-cam footage and lots of ominous looks. Then the aliens decide to open the lines of communication, and things get really freaky.
