Supergirl is about to get weird with the arrival of this DC Comics villain

Things are about to take a turn for the bizarre when this DC Comics supervillain arrives on CBS’ Supergirl.

During a new edition of Kevin Smith’s Fatman on Batman podcast, Supergirl executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Supe's nemesis Bizarro will be coming to National City when the superhero series returns in the new year, following its midseason break.

Kreisberg didn’t reveal which version of Bizarro the show will be tackling, but believes that since a lot of the TV series has been based on Sterling Gates and Jamal Igle's Supergirl run, it’s highly likely we'll be seeing the female version of Bizarro on the show.

Long story short, Bizarro was originally created in 1958 by writer Otto Binder and artist George Papp as a mirror image of Superman. In the Gates/Igles Bizarrogirl story, the character came from a place called Bizarro World, a cube-shaped planet called HtraE where everything is a twisted version of the DC Universe and its characters.

Whether this is the particular take on Bizarro we’ll be getting on the show, or the one from John Byrne's The Man of Steel -- this version was actually an imperfect clone of Superman -- is unclear. If they do go with Bizarrogirl, it’s going to be super cool seeing Melissa Benoist take on the dual role of Kara Danvers/Bizarrogirl.

What do you guys think? Are you excited that Bizarro is coming to Supergirl? Which version would you like to see?
