First X-Men: Apocalypse trailer kicks off an all out war for mutantkind

Well, it's about time! The first trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse has dropped, and it has everything from bald Xavier to an all-out war among mutants.

Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Apocalypse introduces us to a new team of fresh young mutants from Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, as well as the first and most powerful mutant of them all: En Sabah Nur, aka Apocalypse.

The third and final movie of the new trilogy kicked off by X-Men: First Class sees the return of Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Rose Byrne, Lucas Till, Evan Peters and Nicholas Hoult, and introduces Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Lana Condor (Jubilee), Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), Ben Hardy (Angel) and Olivia Munn (Psylocke).

The trailer opens with Jean Grey waking up from a dream/vision -- “I saw the end of the world. I could feel all this death” -- before we’re being slowly introduced to the big bad villain of the movie, played by Poe Dameron from Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Isaac). Oh, and it also closes with a moment fans have been waiting for ever since First Class.

Here's the official movie synopsis:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens in movie theaters on May 27, 2016. Are you excited for the upcoming movie? What do you guys think of the trailer?
