Image(s) of the Day: Wynonna Earp draws her gun in first promo images for the Syfy series

The first awesome promo images for Syfy’s [Blastr’s corporate parent] upcoming live-action adaptation of the Wynonna Earp comic-book series have been released, featuring Melanie Scrofano (RoboCop, The Listener, Damien) in the titular role.

Based on the IDW Publishing comics created by Beau Smith and artists Joyce Chin and Pat Lee, Wynonna Earp is produced by IDW Entertainment and SEVEN24 Films. The upcoming sci-fi series is actually the first TV show produced by IDW. Emily Andras (Lost Girl, Killjoys) will serve as executive producer and showrunner, and production is currently underway in Calgary. 


Here's the first official synopsis for the supernatural series:

"After years on the run and in juvenile detention, Wynonna Earp is finally coming home. The only problem is no one back home wants her to return. But when she becomes the town's only hope of eradicating mysterious demons, Wynonna must choose which side of the law she wants to fight on in order to clear the name of her legendary great grandfather Wyatt Earp once and for all."

Also starring Tim Rozon (Lost Girl, Being Human) as Doc Holliday and Shamier Anderson (Defiance, Constantine) as Agent Dolls, Wynonna Earp will premiere on Syfy in April 2016, with 13 one-hour episodes. Are you excited about the upcoming supernatural series?
