NASA reveals dramatic new images of last year's Antares rocket explosion

We don't need to remind anyone of the inherent dangers and potential for disaster when it comes to any aspect of our space program, but these new NASA images of last year's Antares rocket explosion truly push home the point.   Witness the horrific launch photos captured in stunning high definition showing the Orbital ATK Antares rocket, topped with a Cygnus spacecraft, exploding in a brilliant fireball as it attempts to clear the launchpad at Wallops Island in Virginia.  On Oct. 28, 2014, just six seconds into the unmanned mission to resupply the International Space Station, a "catastrophic anomaly" occurred, requiring the flight termination officer to trigger the rocket's self-destruct device.  No casualties or injuries were reported in the disaster.
