Arlo overcomes his fears in gorgeous new clip from Pixar's The Good Dinosaur

The upcoming CGI flick The Good Dinosaur might be one of the most troubled productions in Pixar history, but bumpy road or not, the latest clip is absolutely gorgeous.

The clip focuses on the young dinosaur Arlo as he tries to overcome his fears, and the lesson makes for one gorgeous shot and scene. The film focuses on a dinosaur who becomes friends with a human, and it’s basically being described as a “boy and his dog” story. Except, you know, the human is the dog and the dinosaur is the boy.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

"The Good Dinosaur" asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

The film was originally supposed to open last year, but Pixar did some major retooling once they realized the working version was bloated and lacked focus. Original director Bob Peterson was replaced by Pete Sohn, and the studio simplified the story and changed up the characters. We're anxious to see how the rewrites turned out, but if this clip is any indication, it's going to look fantastic.

The Good Dinosaur opens Nov. 25.
