War is coming in first fantastic footage from Duncan Jones' Warcraft movie

The first footage (and a cool poster) from director Duncan Jones’ (Moon, Source Code) upcoming fantasy movie Warcraft has been unveiled ahead of this Friday’s eagerly anticipated first full-length trailer.

Even though it’s relatively short (it’s only fifteen seconds long, but it’s an epic fifteen seconds), the teaser gives us a fantastic first look at the realm of Azeroth and its creatures, as well as short glimpses of Travis Fimmel’s Sir Anduin Lothar, Toby Kebbel’s Orc chieftain Durotan and the famous Orgrim Doomhammer (Robert Kazinsky).

The Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures fantasy movie is an adaptation of Blizzard’s hit Warcraft games, the first of which hit shelves way back in 1994. Check out the teaser below, and let us know if you like what you see:

The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home.

So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.

Written by Charles Leavitt and Jones, Warcraft stars Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky and Daniel Wu. The fantasy film is set to hit movie theaters on June 10, 2016.
