We’ve been geeking out over the pilot for a while, and now Amazon has dropped a fresh trailer for the first season of The Man in the High Castle. Spoiler alert: It’s looking good.
The series, based on Philip K. Dick’s award-winning novel, is set in an alternate history where the U.S. lost World War II and is now occupied by Germany and Japan. The plot follows members of the resistance, along with officials within the occupying government, as they try to navigate a version of 1962 that is breathtakingly terrifying. Along with being inspired by a Dick novel, the series is produced by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner). It stars Rufus Sewell (John Adams), Luke Kleintank (Pretty Little Liars) and Alexa Davalos (Mob City).
The pilot episode has been out for a while and is a testament to just how serious Amazon is taking its push into original programming. The production values are top-notch, and the pilot does an excellent job of establishing an ambitious and believable world. The trailer recaps the pilot and also jumps ahead with footage from the rest of the season.
