There will be blood: Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless talk gory glories of Ash vs. Evil Dead

Gas up your 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88s, and save some fuel for your chainsaw, because things finally get rolling Halloween night with Ash vs. Evil Dead

It is an understatement to say the new Starz series, kicking off Oct. 31 at 9 p.m., has a lot of excitement behind it. After waiting 22 years since we last saw Ash Williams in action in Army of Darkness, AvED might be one of the most anticipated shows to debut in a long time.

But this isn't just hype. The first two episodes are excellent, and Starz is seeing, well, stars over the franchise's future and has already renewed it for a second season. The fact that it's being done by the original Michigan gang of Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Ivan Raimi just adds a lot of sweetness and fan hope to the mix. Likewise, the involvement of Lucy Lawless, and a strong cast rounded out by Jill Marie Jones, Dana DeLorenzo and Ray Santiago as new character to the Deadite-verse make this a treat for your Halloween night, and the next several Saturdays.

We have a lot more on the way from Ash vs. Evil Dead, including an interview with Sam Raimi and a set report from New Zealand. But first, let's add some of that leftover fuel I mentioned above to the fires and get cooking with questions from the man himself, Bruce Campbell, and his groovy AvED cast, whom we spoke with in New York City a few days ago.

In the following video, the gang talks about the state of horror, the butt-kicking women of AvED and what it's like to get blood in your sinuses, and Bruce Campbell even throws down a little friendly trash talk about The Walking Dead. Oh, and Ray Santiago tells us about his bloody horror cherry.
