Rumor of the Day: This Avenger will reportedly switch sides in Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War Poster

There’s a cool new rumor making the rounds that a certain Avenger will switch sides in Captain America: Civil War. When a poster recently revealed who would side with Team Iron Man and Team Captain America, it was clear to fans that both sides were unevenly matched, and that our genius billionaire playboy philanthropist Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) had a leg up over Cap (Chris Evans). I mean, Iron Man has the Vision (Paul Bettany) -- who's the most powerful being of the whole group thanks to the Mind Gem -- while he and his best buddy War Machine (Don Cheadle) have armors with ALL THE FIREPOWER!

Partly because of that, fans were left to surmise that one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will eventually switch sides during the movie, and they could be right. The latest rumor from That Hashtag Show claims the Vision will join Captain America by the end of the conflict. They also state that at the end of the comic-book film, he will fly off into space for an undisclosed destination. (Could that mean a Vision appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy 2?) Oh, and Vision will also be in a relationship with the movie's "wild card," Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

If the Vision does, indeed, switch sides during the movie, it’s possible others could follow suit by the end of it. The most likely candidate (in my humble opinion) would be Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) when you take into consideration her close ties to both Cap and Hawkeye. But heh, I could be wrong. What do you guys think? Do you believe there’s any truth to this rumor?

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War will hit movie theaters on May 6, 2016.
