Jessica Drew has a baby on board in new preview from all new Spider-Woman

We knew Marvel was shaking things up with its All-New, All-Different relaunch — but Spider-Woman’s story is really getting a narrative kicker in the wake of Secret Wars. Turns out, Jessica Drew is gonna have a baby.

Dubbed Spider-Woman, the new ongoing series comes from writer Dennis Hopeless and artist Javier Rodriguez. It picks up with Jessica on the verge of having a child, as she tries to balance those responsibilities with all her superhero-ing. Supporting players Ben Urich and Porcupine carry over from her old tales and remain a part of the team, though with Jessica pregnant, the dynamics have changed a bit.

Considering how much Marvel is doubling (and tripling) down on Spider-centric stories these days, this is at least a unique dynamic that could tell an interesting story with a character who has (at times) been underutilized. Here’s hoping they pull it off.

The first issue debuts in November.
