First look at Tom Hiddleston in del Toro's Crimson Peak is creepily perfect

Before tackling Pacific Rim 2, Guillermo del Toro is putting together the creepy little horror flick Crimson Peak — and now we finally have a good look at Tom Hiddleston in his starring role.

Del Toro has managed to redefine awesomeness with some of the insane visuals he’s pulled off in films like Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy, and this is gothic horror filtered through his truly unique lens. Just look at the photo above, which features Hiddleston standing in one of the coolest (and creepiest) houses on the planet.

The film itself follows a young woman (Mia Wasikowska) who is swept off by her feet by a charismatic suitor (Hiddleston). But the courtship takes a turn for the weird when they visit his ancestral home. There she has to grapple with a very jealous sister (Jessica Chastain) and “more than a few skeletons in the closet,” according to the official synopsis.

Del Toro has managed to keep a lot of the details under wraps, and until he decides to actually drop a debut trailer, the above image is pretty much all we have to go on. Crimson Peak is set to open Oct. 16.

A few additional pics have also trickled out showing Chastain and Wasikowsa. You can check those out below:
