Along with the explosion-filled flicks for which he's famous, Michael Bay’s production company is cranking out its own line of entry-level sci-fi flicks. The latest? Project Almanac.
Bay (Transformers) serves as a producer on Project Almanac, which looks essentially like Primer for the teenage crowd. It’s a PG-13 found-footage adventure following a group of teens who stumble across plans for a time machine. They build it and start messing around with the timeline — not surprisingly, things go off the rails.
Following the trend of Bay’s Platinum Dunes productions, it’s directed by relative newcomer Dean Israelite. The film stars Allen Evangelista (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Sam Lerner (Walk of Shame), Jonny Weston (John Dies at the End), Sofia Black-D’Elia (Skins) and Virginia Gardner (The Goldbergs).
Two new clips have been released ahead of the Jan. 30 release date, showing off some of the twisty time-travel action. For a straight-up action-adventure romp, it looks like some harmless sci-fi fun. Can it be better? Check out the clips below and let us know what you think.
