Batman and Robin face the Court of Owls in first Batman vs. Robin trailer

Batman vs. Robin — which is produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation and was announced last summer during San Diego Comic-Con — boasts an excellent voice cast that includes Jason O'Mara (Sons of Liberty, Terra Nova) as the Dark Knight himself, Stuart Allen (Bad Teacher) as Robin and fan fave Sean Maher (Firefly, Arrow), who’s back to kick some ass as Batman’s first sidekick, Nightwing. David McCallum (NCIS) will be voicing Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Jeremy Sisto (Suburgatory) will voice Talon, the Court of Owls' ruthless and seemingly unstoppable assassin. “Weird Al” Yankovic is also part of the cast; he’ll play the Dollmaker, a classic Batman villain who just happens to be the son of a cannibalistic serial killer.

The gist of the storyline is this: A secret society dating back to the early days of Gotham City has been kidnapping kids in order to raise them to be assassins. The trailer boasts some cool Batmobile action, conflict and a nice dose of humor. We like it. A lot.

Batman vs. Robin is helmed by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice storyboard artist Jay Oliva. The upcoming animated movie is a sequel to 2014’s Son of Batman and is based on writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo's Batman: The Court of Owls comics storyline.
