Watch the cast of Community announce when season 6 premieres

For a little while there, it looked like we might never arrive at this moment, but here we are. The sixth season in the "six seasons and a movie" rallying cry of cult hit sitcom Community is looming, and now the cast and creator have revealed when we'll see the first episodes.

In case you're not up to speed on why this particular premiere date is so anticipated, a quick refresher: First, last May, NBC canceled the critically acclaimed and often gloriously nerdy series after five seasons, which already included the added turmoil of losing creator and showrunner Dan Harmon for a fourth season many fans would like to forget. Fans began clamoring for a resurrection of the series almost immediately, and within a month there were rumblings that Community would get a second chance via streaming service Hulu. Hulu's talks with Community's studio, Sony Pictures Television, eventually fell through, but just when it seemed the campaign to keep the show alive was back at square one, Yahoo! opted to pick up the series for a sixth season on its Yahoo! Screen streaming service.

We've known for more than six months that Community would be returning, and though we initially hoped for a 2014 return, we haven't known exactly when to expect to travel back to Greendale for quite some time. At the Television Critics Association press tour today, though, Harmon and Yahoo! finally let us know via a video featuring the show's cast.

In the video, Harmon and cast members Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs, Allison Brie, Ken Jeong, Jim Rash and new addition Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) declare that they have no need for ads, poking a little fun at NBC by claiming they never had them before, so why start now? Eventually, it's revealed that Community will be back on March 17. According to Vulture, the show's Yahoo! premiere will feature two new episodes, followed by new episodes arriving weekly after that.

Check out the video below, and get your backpacks ready to go back to Greendale.
