This is the one thing that might ruin the Deadpool movie

Last week, 20th Century Fox answered our prayers. After years of will they or won't they, the studio confirmed that a Deadpool movie's on the way. They announced an official release date of Feb. 12, 2016. The film will be directed by Tim Miller and hopefully have Ryan Reynolds in the title role.

A release date is a step in the right direction. It means that Deadpool has become somewhat of a priority. Fox was reluctant to move forward with the film for various reasons. One of them having to do with the tone of the script. Fans have been clamoring for an R-rated version of the "merc with a mouth," yet the studio would feel more comfortable with a PG-13.

It seems as if Fox has gotten its wish. According to the Schmoes Know's "Meet the Movie Press" podcast, Miller reworked the script to fit the studio's liking

"I heard from the director that they finally figured out the script, and it was right before this was announced, that they figured out, and you guys are all gonna hate this, they figured out how to make it PG-13. And therefore 'not lose its soul,' and that' a quote, of the script so that they can make it."

We can hear all of your hearts breaking now. If this is true, you definitely won't see those graphic moments of violence featured in the comics. But if the leaked test reel is any indication, the humor will be right on point. The Dark Knight Trilogy fared well with a PG-13, as did X-Men: Days of Future Past. Those death-by-sentinel scenes were brutal! We hope they can do the same for Deadpool by treading that line.

Do you think Deadpool can be a creative success with a PG-13?
