Doctor Who's Matt Smith joins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Matt Smith has just signed on the dotted line to join the cast of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. But as WHOM?

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Smith has joined the cast of the long-in-the-works, on-and-off again flick, which is set to begin filming on Sept. 24. The former Doctor Who star joins a cast that includes Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote and Douglas Booth.

Smith will play Mr. Collins, a parson who’s looking for a wife and sets his sights on Elizabeth Bennet, played by James (Downton Abbey, Cinderella).

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a horror-comedy take by author Seth Grahame-Smith on Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice. The heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, is pressured by her family to marry well, but instead feels that she could help the countryside against the arrival of a terrifying zombie plague.

Matt Smith has recently finished filming on Terminator: Genisys opposite Jason Clarke and Emilia Clarke.

Are you guys looking forward to seeing the former Doctor in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies?
