Has this Shaun of the Dead star been cast in Doctor Who's Xmas special?

There’s a rumor swirling about that a certain Shaun of the Dead star will have a guest-starring role in this year’s upcoming Doctor Who Yuletide episode. As always, please take this with a grain of salt, since it's still a rumor at this point, but here you go:

Doctor Who TV reports that actor Nick Frost — who starred in all three flicks of the Tree Flavours Cornetto trilogy, which includes cult classic Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End — will have a role in Who’s upcoming Christmas special.

Apparently the actor has been spotted in Cardiff with Dan Starkey, who plays the Sontaran Commander Strax, which also may indicate a possible return for the Paternoster Gang as well.

So, what’s the role Frost is rumored to be playing if he is indeed in the Xmas special?

Why, it’s Old Saint Nick himself! Or at least someone looking like him. We don’t know about you, but we think this rumor is rather exciting in and of itself, and we’re rather hoping there’s actually some truth to it. Fingers crossed on this one!

What do you guys think? Do you believe there could be any truth to this rumor? And if so, can you imagine Nick Frost playing Santa Claus himself, or at least someone who looks like him, in Doctor Who's upcoming Xmas special?
