Hiddleston, Cumberbatch, Smith: More sci-fi faves take the ALS ice bucket challenge

The ALS ice bucket challenge is still going strong, and we’ve got a few more names to add to the sci-fi royalty who’ve already accepted the ice-cold challenge.

Among the latest entrants are Tom Hiddleston (a big thank you to Hiddles for the white T-shirt), Benedict Cumberbatch (a big thank you for doing it five times, once with no shirt), Chris Evans, Ewan McGregor, Matt Smith, Emily Blunt (thanks to hubby John Krasinski), Joss Whedon and an ever-classy Sir Patrick Stewart. The ALS ice bucket challenge is all for a good cause: It’s to promote awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and raise some much-needed funds in a good, hilarious way.

(You can see who else has already taken the challenge here.)

After dumping ice cold water on them (or having it thrown in their faces, which is even funnier), the actors then challenge three more people to do the same in 24 hours.

Here are the new, brave souls who have accepted the challenge. (And you can go donate here.)

Tom Hiddleston (Thor, The Avengers)

Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness, The Hobbit)

Matt Smith (Doctor Who)

Ewan McGregor (Star Wars)

Chris Evans (Captain America: The Winter Soldier)

The 501st Stormtrooper Legion

Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow)

Joss Whedon (Buffy, Firefly, The Avengers)

Sir Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: The Next Generation, X-Men)
