First footage of Frozen's Elsa, see what's next for Once Upon a Time from SDCC

The ABC fairy tale series Once Upon a Time is bringing in one of Disney’s biggest (and newest) characters next season, thanks to Frozen. Gotta love synergy. Want to get a look at Elsa in the flesh?

Yes, next season of the hit series will see the introduction of Elsa, and they’ve cast none other than Fringe fan favorite Georgina Haig to play the title role. She shows up at the very end of the teaser, which is otherwise loaded with massive set pieces, sword fights and even a wicked witch or two.

Robert Carlyle, who plays Rumple, teased that his character will continue to struggle with his darker side once the series returns this fall. Which is good, because Carlyle is typically at his best when playing a few different angles and showing the depth and duality:

"Rumple is such a complex character. He's an addict, and he's addicted to power and addicted to magic.”

With so many relationships up in the air heading into next season, producer Edward Kitsis also took a moment to define exactly what constitutes “love” and a “soulmate” in the Once-verse. It’s an interesting definition, and might offer a few hints at what’s to come:

“True love is when you truly love somebody, and soulmate is the idea that there’s only one person for you. … On our show, we’ve learned that happy endings aren’t always what they expect. If you love somebody but it doesn’t work out, you should love again.”

Other tidbits of note: Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) will be sporting regular clothes this season, which is good, since Hook’s coat weighs 50+ pounds; though they think it’d be cool, don’t expect a musical episode anytime soon; and the Evil Queen will resurface soon-ish.
