The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 premiered a new trailer at Comic-Con with Capitol-worthy fanfare

Lionsgate isn't presenting a Mockingjay - Part 1 panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year, but they are still taking advantage of the pop culture event to premiere the first trailer for the two-part finale to the franchise. Lionsgate let the media get a sneak peek of their Capitol Gallery Experience on Friday, where fans will be able to view the trailer on Samsung-sponsored Galaxy Tab S devices.

Fans are taken into the gallery by Peacekeepers, and inside there are two life-sized holograms of Capitol prisoners, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Joanna Mason (Jenna Malone) decked out in Panem pure white. Fans can then get a souvenir photo with the holograms or between them in President Snow's (Donald Sutherland) chair.

The space also features eight District stations, including Haymitch's Elixers (it's fruit juice, not booze, kids), Peeta's Bakery with gourmet pastries and a District 5 design station featuring shirts, bags and whiteboards that can be customized to feature your District of choice.

Actors mill around the space dressed in full Capitol regalia inspired by couture costume design featured in the film by Trish Somerville and Kurt and Bart.

There's a private viewing station on the upper level where fans get a new Mockingjay pin and Panem white inspired movie snacks and then can watch the new trailer featuring Sutherland's President Snow laying down an edict to wipe out the mockingjay symbol associated with Katniss Everdeen. Also featured is Capitol Gamesmaker traitor Plutarch Heavensbee (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) and District 13 President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) discussing Katniss' role in the propoganda of the upcoming war with the Capitol. Everdeen herself is only seen briefly at the end in an underground bunker, with her full reveal still to come.

Fans at San Diego Comic-Con can be part of the experience on Friday and Saturday, with the trailer available via the Hunger Games Movie Pack App on some Samsung devices on Monday, June 28.
