The Rock just basically admitted he's playing DC's Captain Marvel

There's no other word for this news -- Shazam!

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has felt like an obvious slam dunk for a comic-book movie for years now. He's big, he's buff, he's over-the-top charismatic, and he likes nerdy stuff. But finding the perfect vehicle for him is, at least to Johnson, not as easy as you'd think. Yes, of course he wants to be a comic-book hero -- who wouldn't? But whom should he be? That's the real question.

And it seems that has been answered, as the Rock reveals in this very not subtle video, where he's asked what DC character he'd be most excited about potentially playing:

And for those who can't watch a video without their bosses getting mad, here's a transcript of the important part:

"There's a character out there that we're going to announce very soon that I'm gonna play. I'll just say this -- it's the power of Superman. And it's not Green Lantern, by the way. Believe me, John Stewart, he was a character who I wanted to play but there was already a version of Green Lantern and so now we've gone in a different direction. But this character has the power of Superman, he can throw down. Just say the word. That's all I'm gonna say."

Just say the word. Well, that makes it pretty clear. At least we think it does. It's gotta be DC's Captain Marvel, aka Shazam. He's a big DC hero who starts out as a young boy and then, by saying the magic word "Shazam," becomes the big, buff hero, Captain Marvel.

And when you think about it, that could really work. The Rock playing a kid who becomes a big musclebound superhero? He could absolutely sell it and make it great. So we're very excited and hopeful that this means DC will announce an actual live-action Captain Marvel movie soon.

But what do you think?
