Snowpiercer is FINALLY getting a wide release (and here's where it's playing)

It’s been a long wait, but sci-fi fans across the U.S. will finally have a chance to see Snowpiercer this weekend — and here’s where it’ll be playing when it goes nationwide.

Director Bong Joon-ho spent the past year duking it out with The Weinstein Company over final cut of Snowpiercer, eventually landing on the compromise that Bong will have final cut for a limited release instead of a nationwide opening. The only hope? A massive limited opening that gives the studio enough confidence to roll it out.

Well, good news: The past few weeks of showings in New York and California (not to mention a mountain of positive reviews and buzz) has shown the distributor there’s definitely an audience for this unique sci-fi flick.

Starting July 4, the film will be playing across the country in 150+ theaters in a boatload of states. To find a showing near you, head over to the constantly updating list at the film’s official website.

We can’t advocate enough for this film. It’s fantastic. No, it's not perfect, but it's one of the most unique and ambitious sci-fi flicks you’ll see this year. After the fireworks have burned out, wind down your weekend with Snowpiercer. You won’t be disappointed.
